Meet the Team

Dr Nneamaka Ekebuisi

Clinical Psychologist

Eny started working at Psychology Associates in 2018 and has worked with children and young people for over 20 years. Her background includes working within residential drug rehabilitation units and managing a children’s residential home. Eny has also worked in the NHS in both child and adult psychological services. Her special interests include attachment theory, offending behaviours, post-trauma work, family work and providing support to children’s homes via training and consultation. Eny is a reflective practitioner, particularly skilled in providing assessments and interventions with high risk clients, particularly within the fields of domestic abuse and substance misuse. Her extensive training and experience allows Eny to draw upon a range of therapeutic models and approaches including Dyadic Developmental Practice, Systemic, Narrative, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic ideas within her direct and non-direct work.

Eny enjoys the varied nature of the work at PA, and being involved in a number of different projects and client groups. She loves being able to adapt her work and style to accommodate who she is working with, and therefore tailor her approach to meet their needs.

In her spare time, Eny is fond of travel and experiencing different cultures and is an avid Latin dancer, particularly keen on Salsa and Kizomba. Day to day, she likes to spend time doing fitness classes (and relaxing in the sauna) or out walking or cycling when the weather is nice.

As you may be aware, on the 14th April 2025 the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF) announced changes to the Fair Access limit with a reduction of funding to £3000 and the discontinuation of the separate Fair Access Limit for specialist assessments.

We are currently working really hard to amend quotes for ongoing therapy work to fit within the new Fair Access Limit and working closely with Adopt South West and other local RAAs. We are also working closely with other specialist adoption support providers and therapeutic organisations including DDP connects and Theraplay UK to explore how we can continue to deliver specialist therapies within this limit.

If you are waiting for a new package of therapy please look out for correspondence from ASW or your regional adoption support agency, as they will need to regain your consent for the amended therapy contract.

If you are concerned about the impact of the delay on your family or have questions about the therapy or assessment you are waiting for please get in touch with Ellen or Jen and we will do our best to support you.

We will be contributing to a wider response to this and the following is a link to a petition requesting government action – Petition · Action Against ASGSF Changes (Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund) – United Kingdom · Change.org
