Why therapy?
Most people will experience difficulties with their mental health at some point in their lives. Therapy and counselling involves meeting with a qualified professional on a regular basis to explore distress and difficulties in a confidential and safe setting. Our team of highly trained and skilled clinicians can use their skills and knowledge from a wide range of therapy models to ensure that your individual needs are met.
What is available?
Our clients tell us that the broad range of flexibility offered by Psychology Associates enables them to develop an understanding of themselves. We can provide therapeutic interventions including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion Focussed CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic and systemic models, as well as integrating a range of models in a flexible way.
How can I see a Therapist?
At Psychology Associates we work collaboratively with our clients to match them to a suitable therapist. We work at the person’s own pace, regularly discussing goals and progress to ensure that the therapeutic process feels supportive and manageable. You would be offered an initial appointment to discuss what you would like from therapy, what brings you to therapy at this particular time and how to proceed. Our therapists offer short, medium and long-term therapy and we can discuss the length of therapy in the first few sessions.
We work with people across the lifespan to address the full range of psychological presentations including:
