At Psychology Associates, we have worked closely with children’s residential homes to provide our highly skilled and expert support for over twenty years. Our approach strives to make a meaningful difference through evidence based and effective interventions in order to best support residential home staff and the children and young people they work with.
As our team at Psychology Associates is multidisciplinary, including Clinical Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Specialist Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, residential homes can access a wide range of support within one team.
Training courses and events – we can deliver training events on a range of topics such as Attachment vs Autism, Child Sexual Exploitation, Sensory Processing Disorders, Harmful Sexualised Behaviour, Addiction and the Brain, Vicarious Trauma and many more. Supervision and Reflective Practice – we have vast experience in providing these sessions to help provide a safe space to discuss and de-brief after stressful situations, build important bonds within teams and increase resilience to help combat burnout. We can provide individual or group supervision and/or Reflective Practice sessions dependent on your team’s needs.
Consultation – our expert team can provide specialist support and advice on a wide variety of topics including in relation to a named young person (with consent) or consultation to explore best practice as a team. Consultations can be provided by Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists or Specialist Occupational Therapists.
Assessments & Diagnosis – (where suitable) we can provide Multidisciplinary assessments of children and young people including Educational Psychology Assessments, holistic psychological assessments, assessment of need (including therapeutic recommendations), diagnostic assessments (including Autism and Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (DCD) and Occupational Therapy assessments.
Therapy – our team is highly experienced in working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and attachment difficulties and can provide integrative support to best suit the individual’s needs (including with their family members if suitable). Just some of these interventions include Trauma focussed CBT, Sensory Attachment Integration, EMDR and Dyadic Developmental Practice.
