Meet the Team

Danya Martoglio

Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Danya joined Psychology Associates in 2021.  Danya holds a PG (DIP) in Humanistic Counselling and has also completed specialist training in Counselling Children & Young People; Counselling Couples; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Dramatherapy; and Coaching. Danya is highly experienced in counselling adults and is able to provide effective psychological support for a broad range of mental health difficulties.

Danya has particular strength working with children in schools and is deeply committed to assisting young people through all the stages of their development as they transition into adulthood.  She is practical and creative in her integrative therapeutic approach, drawing from solution-focussed, cognitive behavioural and creative arts based therapies.  Underpinning all her work is the belief that everyone has incredible built-in reserves of strength and resources.

Danya enjoys working at PA as no two days are the same; she works therapeutically with clients and also engages with whole teams providing training, supervision and wellbeing workshops. She thrives on interaction with others and is proud to be part of such a diverse team of colleagues with a range of expertise and skills.

In her downtime, she enjoys being out on nature walks. She belongs to a multi-heritage family of foodies so often experiments with different cuisines – from curries to homemade pasta. She also loves to cuddle up with her recue dogs (or cats if they are willing) while catching up on the latest Korean drama on Netflix.

As you may be aware, on the 14th April 2025 the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF) announced changes to the Fair Access limit with a reduction of funding to £3000 and the discontinuation of the separate Fair Access Limit for specialist assessments.

We are currently working really hard to amend quotes for ongoing therapy work to fit within the new Fair Access Limit and working closely with Adopt South West and other local RAAs. We are also working closely with other specialist adoption support providers and therapeutic organisations including DDP connects and Theraplay UK to explore how we can continue to deliver specialist therapies within this limit.

If you are waiting for a new package of therapy please look out for correspondence from ASW or your regional adoption support agency, as they will need to regain your consent for the amended therapy contract.

If you are concerned about the impact of the delay on your family or have questions about the therapy or assessment you are waiting for please get in touch with Ellen or Jen and we will do our best to support you.

We will be contributing to a wider response to this and the following is a link to a petition requesting government action – Petition · Action Against ASGSF Changes (Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund) – United Kingdom · Change.org
