Catriona Brown
Counsellor and Therapist

Catriona Brown is a BACP Registered Therapeutic Counsellor, who retrained following a career in editing. Her approach is integrative and relational, and she aims to help clients find their own path through challenge towards growth and change. She has also trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, with a view to becoming a certified practitioner. Catriona has worked one-to-one with parents at Action for Children, offering therapy for a range of mental health concerns and parenting issues. She has worked long-term with clients caring for family members at Devon’s Counselling for Carers, and most recently, with adoptive parents and their children. To assist the therapeutic process, Catriona often draws on creative interventions. She has a special interest in early trauma, loss and attachment. Experience has led her to being passionate about how attachment-focused therapy, namely DDP, can help families with children who have experienced early trauma.
