Hannah Avent
Specialist Occupational Therapist
Hannah joined Psychology Associates in 2024 and is a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist. She specialises in Sensory Attachment Intervention and Ayres Sensory Integration, and she also supports children and young people who experience anxiety, low mood, low self esteem, or reduced confidence.
In her role as an OT, Hannah has worked within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, supporting families to understand what a child’s behaviour may be communicating and exploring the underlying needs behind it. During her time in CAMHS, she developed an Ecotherapy programme and has seen how beneficial outdoor work can be for children, using nature as a calming and regulating influence. Hannah takes a holistic approach, valuing the whole person, and is passionate about helping people understand their nervous systems and how to support their own regulation. She draws on a range of therapeutic models in her work, including cognitive behavioural therapy, internal family systems, and dialectical behaviour therapy. Alongside her base in Saltash, Hannah also works at Poole Farm in Plymouth, offering walk and talk sessions and Eco Sensory Therapy in the woodland setting.
Hannah is additionally trained as a Mindfulness in Schools Teacher, an Eco Sensory Therapy Practitioner, and a Laughter Yoga Leader.
Outside of work, Hannah enjoys spending time with her family, being by the sea, and getting creative outdoors.
