This two hour workshop facilitated by Dr Karen Kershaw, is suitable for both parents/carers and any professional working with children/young people It will briefly cover the evolutionary theory behind anxiety, what anxieties tend to link with children’s developmental stages and consider these in the context of COVD-19. It will also aim to reframe anxiety as a helpful tool, but one which can escalate beyond being useful. The workshop will use ideas rooted in brain development, cognitive behavioural theory and psychological well-being to provide ideas to support children to increase their resilience against anxiety, and strategies to explore and take charge of it. There will also be time to discuss experiences and think together as a group.
This training will run from 10.00am-12.00pm, and will be held virtually over Zoom.
