Supporting children with DLD and SEMH Needs in Practice

This training explores practical activities to support the social and emotional development of primary school children who have Developmental Language Disorders (DLD) and Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs (SEMH).

The workshop will begin with an overview of the rationale for intervention. This will be followed by looking at a range of games-based activities targeting key skills and areas of development. Attention will also be paid to adult-child interpersonal skills and how adults can adapt their own communication in order to best meet the social-emotional needs of these very vulnerable children.
