This training will be delivered by Dr Karen Kershaw, Clinical Psychologist, and will run from 9.30am-1.00pm. It is applicable to all line managers from across different professions (for example; Teaching, HR, Financial, Sport, Health & Social Care, Industrial) who want to be better equipped at supporting those they line manage with their mental health and wellbeing.
Stress, depression and anxiety are thought to be responsible for 83 million lost working days each year in the UK*. It is even more crucial now, with the impact of COVID-19, that line manages have the knowledge and the skills to support those they line manage with their emotional wellbeing. This training will provide delegates with an understanding of mental health difficulties, including main symptoms, and provide strategies around how best to support those they line manage, who may be presenting with these symptoms. The training will ensure Managers feel more confident in having open, safe and honest conversations around mental wellbeing, have knowledge to signpost colleagues to appropriate avenues, and feel more comfortable considering how to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on their employee’s mental health.
