Louise Deane
Integrative Humanistic Counsellor and DDP Informed Practitioner
Louise Deane is an Integrative Humanistic counsellor registered with the BACP, a Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) Informed Practitioner and a retired social worker. Having qualified at DDP Levels 1 & 2, Louise offers DDP informed practice with a particular focus on working with adoptive parents, offering them help and support to become more attuned to their children’s needs. Louise believes this is particularly important if the child is receiving therapy. Louise has worked in mainstream child care social work, in the Post Adoption service and in CAMHS. Having worked in Local Authority, Education and Health settings, Louise has an in-depth knowledge of how these systems work and how they impact on an adoptive family. She is very familiar with contributing to multi-agency thinking around a child’s complex needs. She has been involved in offering attachment focused training to adoptive parents as well as offering short term training around mental health for parents whose children receive a service from CAMHS. Qualifying as a Counsellor in 2013, Louise now has a private counselling service offering generic counselling and consultations to adults, older adolescents and parents.
