Dr Rebecca Docherty

Educational Psychologist

Rebecca is an educational psychologist offering validated remote assessments via Q Global with Pearson Clinical during the Covid-19 pandemic. This platform allows robust assessment of cognition, communication and social and emotional needs.

Rebecca began her career as a class teacher, giving her practical first-hand understanding of strategy implementation. She has worked as an educational psychologist for 13 years, and has held senior roles in the field. Rebecca has extensive experience of writing Education, Health and Care Plan reports, along with supervision of report writing in colleagues.

Rebecca’s work has included direct work with mainstream and specialist provision including assessment, consultation and training. She has led educational psychology provision across a group of residential independent special schools for students with severe learning difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs. Rebecca writes evidence-based reports for courts in relation to SEND disputes and personal injury cases, providing clear descriptions of client needs and required provision.
