Ailsa Murray

Counsellor

Ailsa is a National Counselling Society accredited counsellor with experience working with clients who have experienced anxiety, depression, relationship and communication issues, difficulties at work, anger and self-esteem issues, and abuse and trauma. Ailsa is currently working as a remote/online Freelance counsellor at First Light Sexual Violence charity in Plymouth. Ailsa previously worked in the clinical software industry before embarking upon training to become a counsellor. Through her training, Ailsa completed various placements working with children and young people as well as adults, including those with sexual abuse trauma. Ailsa uses an approach where the client’s wants and needs are followed, and supported with person centred, gestalt and CBT in whichever way is right for the client in that moment. Ailsa has undertaken transpersonal training during her Level 4 Diploma and so is able to support clients seeking to explore or incorporate any spiritual beliefs in their sessions. Ailsa also has an interest in self-care and kindness-to-self approaches when working with clients.
