Services to Solicitors

• Psychology Associates provides expert witness reports for the Courts in child and family, criminal and/or civil proceedings.

• Psychology Associates offers a central point of contact for Solicitors seeking to instruct an expert in the field of Clinical and/or Forensic Psychology.

• Psychology Associates places an emphasis on the provision of high quality expert reports that are evidence based, comprehensive and thorough.

• All Associates meet the British Psychological Society criteria for being chartered as Clinical, Counselling and/or Forensic Psychologists and will only accept referrals within their field of expertise. Practicing Certificates are held with the admin team.

• Associates will have been carefully selected and consequently recommended by Dr Candy and/or other senior members of the practice who have worked in the region for a number of years and have good knowledge of available clinicians.

• New Associates are actively recruited. However at no time will Psychology Associates reduce the quality of the experts offered, maintaining an emphasis on selecting only high calibre individuals.

• All CVs are held centrally and the admin team would be happy to forward a CV on request.

• All Associates will have lodged proof of adequate Professional Indemnity Insurance with the admin team.

• Psychology Associates ensures experts are trained in Court skills including report writing, Court attendance and process.

• In cases where more than one expert is required Psychology Associates will take steps to link appropriate experts. Over time Associates will gain experience of working together improving the level of comprehensiveness available to instructing parties.  At all times experts will maintain clinical independence.

• Psychology Associates would be happy to discuss with any potential referrer the requirements for psychological assessments including offering advice and consultation in respect to appropriate and available psychological assessments.

• If a referrer requests a specific expert, attempts will be made to place the work with the named individual.  If timescales are prohibitive alternative experts will be recommended.

• Psychology Associates endeavours to provide a high quality service to referrers and will return calls within 24 hours aiming to keep referrers up to date with progress with a case and reply to requests for experts’ timescales as soon as possible.
