Dr Mari Aldridge
Dr Mari Aldridge is a Chartered Clinical and Forensic Psychologist. She provides expert witness testimony to the Courts for public and private family proceedings. She has extensive experience in undertaking parenting assessments and psychological assessments, which include assessments of personality functioning, cognitive assessments, risk assessment (including domestic violence, general violence, psychopathy and personality disorder) and capacity to protect. Dr Aldridge has previously worked for the Prison Service and in a residential assessment centre, undertaking parenting capacity assessment, including the impact of substance misuse, mental health problems, non-accidental injury, emotional abuse and neglect, and physical abuse along with attachment assessments. Dr Aldridge provides therapy drawing on a wide range of psychological theories, including CBT and EMDR to address trauma.
Dr Linda Blud
Dr Linda Blud provides psycho-legal services for civil,criminal and family proceedings, specialising in risk for violence (including domestic violence),psychopathy,personality disorder and intellectual functioning.Linda has been a member of the Parole Board for England and Wales for the last 6 years,providing expert advice and attending numerous oral hearings.She has worked in forensic settings for 20 years,specialising in the development of offending behaviour programmes and risk assessment.She has delivered training for forensic staff in North America,Norway,The Netherlands and Ireland,as well as extensively across the UK.
Dr Kelly Camilleri
Dr Kelly Camilleri provides staff training and consultation to a wide variety of care services. She has worked within the NHS for 20 years in both community and in-patient services. Kelly specializes in working with people who have learning difficulties. She provides individual and group therapy, and specialist assessment and intervention around mental health, behavioural, and forensic issues. She provides supervision to psychologists and other professionals. Kelly has a special interest in the provision of clinical training and has worked on the Exeter Doctoral Training Programme for 5 years. She continues to teach and supervise doctoral research.
Ms Lisa Davies
Lisa Davies is a Consultant Forensic Psychologist, Chartered Scientist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. Lisa has been working as a psychologist for over 12 years working with offenders in prison and in mental health settings, becoming chartered in 2004. During this time Lisa has also worked as an independent consultant to Solicitors specialising in Prison, Mental Health and Immigration Law, including attendance as an expert witness in the Crown and Magistrates Courts, at Parole Board Hearings and Asylum and Immigration Tribunals. Lisa has worked for over seven years designing and implementing treatment interventions for women with a history of self injurious behaviours and has experience of delivering dialectical behaviour therapy since 2006. Lisa is trained in the administration of the HCR-20 structured risk assessment of violence, the International Personality Disorder Examination (IPDE), The Risk of Sexual Violence Protocol (RSVP) and Sexual Violence Risk (SVR-20), The Structured Assessment of Spousal Assault (SARA), Stalking Assessment and Management (SAM) and she has undertaken a number of assessments of fire setting and arson risk.
Dr Judy Faulkner
Mrs Judy Faulkner is a Forensic Psychologist and Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist. Judy has extensive experience in providing psycho-legal services for civil, criminal and child-care proceedings, specialising in assessment of risk for violence and sexual offending, personality disorder and psychopathy, cognitive functioning and mental health difficulties. Judy also provides assessments for mentally disordered offenders in secure or prison settings. She has a particular interest in psychological assessment which assists the decision making of the Parole Board and Discretionary Lifer Panels. Judy offers Cognitive Analytic psychotherapy to a wide range of clients and she is also a Motivational Interviewing trainer. She has an interest in those who have been in care homes and boarding schools. Judy was previously employed by Her Majesty’s Prison Service in prisons and at Offending Behaviour Programmes Unit in the Prison Service HQ.
Dr Susan Jones
Dr Susan Jones is a clinical director and the forensic lead. Susan provides psycho-legal services for civil, criminal and child-care proceedings, specialising in assessment of risk for violence and sexual offending, personality disorder and psychopathy, cognitive functioning and mental health difficulties. Susan also provides assessments for mentally disordered offenders in secure or prison settings. She has extensive experience of providing psychological evidence to the Courts and training others in Expert Witness skills and forensic assessment. She also has an interest in cognitive difficulties associated with psychosis. Susan was previously employed in secure services in the NHS.
Ms Sharon Mayer
Sharon Mayer has worked with Psychology Associates since 2006 providing adult psychological and risk assessments, and therapeutic interventions. She has a background in residential treatment for alcohol and drug dependency and in the Criminal Justice System where she worked with high risk offenders in Her Majesty’s Prison Service and the National Probation Service. She also has experience working for the NHS in Forensic Mental Health and Learning Disabilities. She currently provides clinical support for NHS, Social Services, NOMS and NSPCC staff who work with violent and sex offenders, partners and perpetrators of domestic violence, and victims of crime. In addition to her Forensic training Sharon holds a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology; she applies an integrated theoretical and relational process approach to her therapeutic practice and is currently completing a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. Sharon accepts assessment referrals in relation to private and public law and criminal proceedings along with therapy referrals.
Dr Judith McBrien
Dr Judith McBrien provides assessments of adults with learning disabilities and borderline functioning, including parenting assessments, risk assessments, capacity and fitness to plead. She has worked in the NHS for the past 28 years and has conducted medico-legal assessments in care proceedings and the criminal Courts since 1996 (with Psychology Associates since 2004). She has extensive publications in the field of learning disabilities and is a Visiting Professor at the University of Plymouth.
Dr Claire Nagi
Dr Claire Nagi is a Chartered Forensic Psychologist. She provides psycho-legal services for criminal proceedings and Prison Law, specialising in the risk assessment of violence and sexual offending, in addition to assessment of personality and cognitive functioning. She has been working in the field of psychological assessment and intervention with forensic populations since 2003, across a range of settings including the HM Prison and Probation services, as well as medium and low secure forensic mental health services. Dr Nagi currently works in an NHS low secure hospital for mentally disordered offenders. She has experience working with offenders who present with complex needs, including risk for violence and sexual offending, difficulties with motivation, mental disorder, personality assessment and treatment. Dr Nagi is also an Honorary Clinical Lecturer for the Centre for Forensic and Family Psychology, University of Birmingham
Mr Liam Newton
Liam Newton is a Chartered Forensic Psychologist who specialises in risk assessment for sexual offending and for violence, including domestic violence. He provides expert witness services to the courts in criminal and civil cases. He has worked in NHS Learning Disability, Prison and Special Hospital settings and has a longstanding interest in personality disorder, substance misuse and addiction. Liam provides therapeutic work which includes CBT and Mindfulness strategies.
Dr Joy Pickett
Joy Pickett is a chartered and registered forensic psychologist. Joy provides psycho-legal services for criminal and child care proceedings, specialising in assessment of risk for violence and sexual offending, personality disorder and psychopathy. Joy also provides assessments of offenders in prison or secure settings. She has extensive experience of training others and has delivered group therapy and one to one CBT and EMDR specialising in anger, anxiety, PTSD, self harm, generalised anxiety, paranoia, panic attacks, depression, stress and phobia. Joy was previously employed in the NHS and in the prison service.
Dr Emma Pillinger
Dr Emma Pillinger is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with 10 years experience of working in both public and private sectors, in community, residential and in-patient services. In addition to providing therapeutic intervention to individuals and groups, she offers specialist assessment, formulation and intervention for mental health, behavioural, organic and forensic issues (including specialist risk assessment). Emma also provides consultation to staff teams and organisations, and supervision to other psychologists and professionals. Emma specialises in working with older people and people who have a learning disability, and has a special interest in the areas of organisational dynamics, risk assessment, bereavement, suicide, and the psychological implications of old age and learning disability.
Emma also works part time with the University of Exeter as Clinical Tutor on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Training Programme
Dr Andrew Pritchard
Dr Andrew Pritchard is a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical and Forensic). Andrew provides psycho-legal services for civil, criminal and child-care proceedings, specialising in the assessment of risk for violence, domestic violence and sexual offending. In addition, Andrew provides assessments of mental health problems, personality disorder, and intellectual and neuropsychological functioning. He has experience of providing evidence to the Courts and offers training in expert witness skills. Andrew also works in a community forensic service within the NHS where he provides forensic clinical psychology services to mentally disordered offenders across a range of care settings. This role also encompasses training health professionals in risk assessment, providing mental health review tribunal and parole board reports and participation in local Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements Panels.
Dr Chrissie Robertson
Dr Chrissie Robertson is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. She specialises in the assessment and formulation of complex mental health difficulties and the provision of individually tailored psychotherapeutic treatment. She has worked across a range of service settings including both primary care, secondary and tertiary mental health and secure settings. She provides assessment of risk, therapeutic needs and suitability for specialist placements. Dr Robertson is also experienced in working with mentally disordered offenders, ‘hard to engage’ clients and with a variety of complex mental health presentations including self-harm, psychosis, childhood trauma and co-morbid substance misuse.
Dr Claire Smith
Dr Claire Smith is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who has worked within forensic mental health services for 10 years providing specialist assessments and interventions for mentally disordered offenders within a secure NHS hospital. She also has prior experience of working within specialist services for brain injury and Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Since 2000, she has provided expert witness testimony for civil, family and criminal court proceedings, mental health review tribunals and parole board hearings, specialising in assessing risk of sexual or violent behaviour, including domestic violence, in addition to psychological assessment of mental state; personality disorder; complex trauma; substance misuse, and intellectual and neuropsychological functioning.
Dr Vicky Wheeler
Dr Vicky Wheeler is a Clinical Psychologist providing expert witness services to the courts in criminal, civil and family cases. Dr Wheeler is skilled at working with emotionally distressed children and families and can complete attachment and parenting assessments. She has a special interest in paediatric psychology and has considerable experience in this area. Dr Wheeler also specialises in forensic cases, providing assessments of risk for violence and sexual offending, personality disorder, psychopathy, mental health difficulties and substance misuse. Dr Wheeler has worked extensively within the court system, providing written and verbal reports and participated regularly in multi-agency public protection arrangement panels.
