Dr Sue Candy
Dr Sue Candy is the founder and Managing Director of Psychology Associates. Sue provides expert witness testimony to the Courts. She specialises in assessments of parenting capacity and attachment. She previously worked for many years in the National Health Service providing therapy, assessment and research in obstetrics and gynaecology, learning disability, mental health and parenting. Sue has extensive experience of providing expert psychological evidence to the Courts. She will accept referrals in childcare proceedings, fitness to plead or capacity assessments and complex personal injury cases. She provides training to other professionals in Court report writing and skills. She has an interest in training Clinical Psychologists and was formerly Admissions and Examinations Tutor at Plymouth University on the South West Clinical Psychology Training Scheme. She offers supervision to other psychologists working within Psychology Associates.
Dr Yetunde Ade- Serrano
Yetunde Ade-Serrano
Yetunde Ade-Serrano is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist. She provides psychological therapy to a variety of people on a short and long term basis, and has worked with a variety of presenting issues. She has 7 years clinical experience. She completed a doctorate research exploring the self-definitions and individuality of black professional women. Yetunde works integratively using a number of therapeutic approaches; this enables the sessions to be tailored to the needs of individual clients. She is new to Psychology Associates but also works in the City as an Assistant Underwriter for a Reinsurance Company.
Dr Mari Aldridge
Dr Mari Aldridge is a Chartered Clinical and Forensic Psychologist. She provides expert witness testimony to the Courts for public and private family proceedings. She has extensive experience in undertaking parenting assessments and psychological assessments, which include assessments of personality functioning, cognitive assessments, risk assessment (including domestic violence, general violence, psychopathy and personality disorder) and capacity to protect. Dr Aldridge has previously worked for the Prison Service and in a residential assessment centre, undertaking parenting capacity assessment, including the impact of substance misuse, mental health problems, non-accidental injury, emotional abuse and neglect, and physical abuse along with attachment assessments. Dr Aldridge provides therapy drawing on a wide range of psychological theories, including CBT and EMDR to address trauma.

Dr Rina Bajaj is a qualified Counselling Psychologist working with Psychology Associates. She is registered with the Health Professionals Council and is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. She has been working within the field of Mental Health since 2005 and has worked within various settings including the NHS, Private Practice, the Charitable sector and the Corporate sector. Rina provides psychological assessments of children (0-18), parenting assessments, therapeutic work, and consultation to children’s services and families as well as Expert witness assessments and reports for courts. Rina has an expertise in working with children who have experienced abuse and trauma as well as working with individuals who have been impacted by substance misuse.
Dr Arabella Bowen
Dr Arabella Bowen is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist. Arabella offers expert witness assessments for court, parenting assessments, attachment assessments, mental health assessments and personal injury assessments. Arabella has expertise in working with children and young people who have experienced abuse, and has previously worked in specialist residential adolescent services and mother and baby assessment settings. She specialises in working with severe and long standing mental health difficulties, personality difficulties, difficult family dynamics and the psychological consequences of abuse and trauma. Arabella has recently joined Psychology Associates,having spent 10 years working clinically within community and inpatient NHS mental health teams. Arabella has maintained her expertise in individual, couple and family therapy through private practice since 2003 and provides individually tailored interventions drawing on models of CBT, narrative, systemic and psychodynamic practice. She provides supervision/consultation for psychologists in training and more experienced practitioners.
Dr Emily Brooks
Dr Emily Brooks provides psychological assessments and psychological therapy for adolescents and adults. Assessments provided include expert witness assessments for Court, parenting assessments, mental health assessments and personal injury assessments. Emily worked for a number of years in the NHS in adult mental health and early intervention in psychosis services. She specialises in working with severe and long standing mental health difficulties, personality difficulties, and the psychological consequences of abuse and trauma. Emily has worked with Psychology Associates since 2008 and has recently joined the practice full time.
Dr Richard Budd
Dr Rick Budd is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. He divides his time between private practice and work with the homeless, where he has a particular interest in working with people who have recently been released from prison. He provides assessment of adults for civil, criminal and child-care proceedings, focussing on the assessment of personality and cognitive functioning, the risk for violence and for re-offending. He offers therapy to clients who present with complex difficulties, including personality disorder, impulse control problems, PTSD and psychosis. Dr Budd provides training on a variety of issues, including complex case formulation and the management of self-harm and the risk of violence and suicide.
Dr Peter Cairns
Dr Peter Cairns has recently joined Psychology Associates, having worked as a Clinical Psychologist within NHS adult mental health services for the past 7 years. He is available to provide psychological and parenting assessments for adults over 16 years of age. Expert witness assessments and reports for court are also provided. Peter has particular expertise in assessing and treating adults who have experienced abuse and trauma, or who have significant attachment and relational difficulties.
Dr Kelly Camilleri
Dr Kelly Camilleri provides staff training and consultation to a wide variety of care services. She has worked within the NHS for 20 years in both community and in-patient services. Kelly specializes in working with people who have learning difficulties. She provides individual and group therapy, and specialist assessment and intervention around mental health, behavioural, and forensic issues. She provides supervision to psychologists and other professionals. Kelly has a special interest in the provision of clinical training and has worked on the Exeter Doctoral Training Programme for 5 years. She continues to teach and supervise doctoral research.
Dr Alison Carr
Dr Alison Carr offers expert witness assessments for court, parenting assessments, mental health assessments and personal injury assessments. Alison has worked in mental health services within the NHS for 11 years. She has worked predominantly within adult mental health services, and has a long-standing interest in family assessment and therapy. She has previously worked in specialist Mother and Baby services and with vulnerable women and their children, assessing complex issues of mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence and capacity to parent. Alison has maintained her expertise in individual and family psychotherapy through private practice since 2007 and she has been linked with Psychology Associates since 2009.
Dr Rebecca Delmar-Morgan
Dr Rebecca Delmar-Morgan is a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in assessment and therapy with people who have complex physical health problems, pain and disability. This work includes pacing and goal setting, pain and symptom management, working with loss and addressing lost confidence, depression, anxiety and panic. Her therapeutic approaches are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She has experience of assessment and community rehabilitation with people who have suffered acquired brain injury. She also works in the NHS, where her commitments include teaching and supervising trainee clinical psychologists.
Dr Madeleine Dunham
Madeleine Dunham has 25 years experience in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and their families in the NHS and is now in full time independent practice. She provides reports for the Courts in public and private childcare disputes and personal injury, specialising in assessment of parents attributes and parenting abilities, children’s needs, attachment issues, domestic abuse, substance misuse, learning difficulties and mental health issues. She has been providing reports to the Courts for over 20 years and has given evidence in Court on numerous occasions. She also maintains a family therapeutic practice and works with collaborative lawyers in relation to divorce and contact.
Dr Eldad Farhy
Dr Eldad Farhy is a Lead Chartered Psychologist with nearly 15 years experience in both the NHS and the private sector. Dr Farhy provides neuropsychological assessments and psychological interventions to a range of services, including expert witness work and therapeutic interventions. Within the broad scope of psychology, Eldad specialises in the assessment of cognitive and psychological functioning with particular expertise in Trauma and Personality factors. He has recently joined Psychology Associates and holds an NHS post in community psychology. Eldad also offers assessment and therapy services in French, Spanish, Italian and Hebrew.
Dr Frances Gillies
Dr Frances Gillies is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist working in adult mental health. She works part-time as a Principal Psychologist in secondary care in Devon Partnership NHS Trust where she delivers a range of psychological therapies, assessments and consultations for clients (and their families and carers) with complex mental health presentations. Frances also convenes a psychological training programme within the NHS and teaches on the Exeter University Clinical Psychology Doctoral Programme. Frances has recently joined Psychology Associates and provides assessments, reports and therapeutic interventions for adult mental health issues and presentations arising from personal injury claims.
Dr Jo Gosling
Dr Jo Gosling has worked for many years in the NHS, making the transition from working as a Macmillan nurse to training as a Clinical Psychologist, leading to specialising in psychological help for people with physical health conditions. She has had substantial experience in the following areas: psychological interventions for people with chronic pain, chronic fatigue, stress-related problems, medically unexplained symptoms and other health conditions. She has trained in Mindfulness-based Approaches for Health and incorporates these in working with stress and long term conditions. She has completed training at the Tavistock Clinic, London, on relational approaches to health problems – this supports her clinical work in situations where health problems impact upon relationships. Her Doctorate work explored couple relationships where one of the couple had acquired a brain injury. She works part time with the University of Exeter as Clinical Tutor on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Training Programme.
Dr Anna Gough
Dr Anna Gough has specialised in adult mental health for the past 10 years, with a particular clinical focus on the impact of attachment/childhood trauma and the development of personality disorders. She provides psychological assessments of parents and regularly gives evidence in Court. Anna has previously worked in community and inpatient NHS mental health teams, including specialist eating disorder and personality disorder services. She is trained to deliver Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder, and Eye Movement Desensitisation for simple and complex trauma.
Dr Eliza Harris
Eliza Harris provides psycho-legal assessments for civil, criminal and family court proceedings. She has extensive experience in the assessment of risk for violence, sexual offending (against both children and adults) and arson. Eliza utilizes a wide range of structured, empirically-based clinical judgment tools and psychometrics within her practice. She is also trained and experienced in the assessment of cognitive functioning and personality disorder, including psychopathy. Eliza also provides cognitive behavioural interventions (e.g. stress/anxiety management, anger management, relationship skills, relapse prevention), and is currently expanding into coaching psychology with both individuals and organizations. Dr Andrea Herbert
Dr Andrea Herbert is a Clinical Psychologist with a specialist interest in Neuropsychology and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She has worked in Neuropsychology since 2002 and has experience in both the assessment and rehabilitation of various neurological conditions in inpatient and community settings. Andrea also has experience of running groups to aid people in their adjustment to living with various health conditions and offers therapy to individuals with a range of difficulties. Finally, she currently works part-time for the NHS and in her own private practice she works with people affected by trauma and various cognitive difficulties. Here she provides medico-legal assessments and reports, as well as offering interventions including CBT and EMDR.
Dr Susan Jones
Dr Susan Jones is a clinical director and the forensic lead. Susan provides psycho-legal services for civil, criminal and child-care proceedings, specialising in assessment of risk for violence and sexual offending, personality disorder and psychopathy, cognitive functioning and mental health difficulties. Susan also provides assessments for mentally disordered offenders in secure or prison settings. She has extensive experience of providing psychological evidence to the Courts and training others in Expert Witness skills and forensic assessment. She also has an interest in cognitive difficulties associated with psychosis. Susan was previously employed in secure services in the NHS.
Dr Dionne Joseph
I am a experienced Clinical Psychologist and I work with both adults and children. I am particularly skilled in working with families of African and African-Caribbean background. I have good understanding and experience of different cultural practices in respect of child-rearing beliefs and customs, the impact of different spiritual belief systems and how parental attitudes expectations and behaviour may differ from Western European norms.
I have worked extensively with refugees and asylum-seekers in respect of assessing functioning and psychological trauma (eg when individuals are from war-torn countries) and in cases where residency status is disputed. I have specialist training in working through interpreters. I am also able to conduct assessments of cognitive functioning where the individual speaks no English.
I am a Certified Expert Witness. I am experienced in giving evidence in Court. I am reliable and work quickly and efficiently. I keep an up-to-date and comprehensive library of psychometric assessment tools.
I have prepared more than 170 reports for the family courts.
Dr Jenny King
Jenny offers psychological assessment and therapy to adults with a range of difficulties, including mental health problems, difficulties resulting from traumatic events, adjustment to and coping with physical health problems, and work related issues. Jenny offers a range of therapy models, chosen according to individual needs, preference and the available research evidence, often including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Re-Processing (EMDR), Mindfulness, Systemic Narrative and Solution Focused approaches.
Dr Neil Matson
Neil is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years experience in the NHS. He has specialist interest in Neuropsychology and therapy particularly in relation to older adults but also younger adults. Neil has particular experience with Memory Clinics, the dementias and other neurological conditions, coping with and adjustment to cognitive impairment, and work with residential and nursing home staff in developing person-centred care and in applying the quality of care measure of Dementia Care Mapping. Neil’s therapeutic work centres around loss, depression and anxiety taking an integrative therapy approach that includes Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing.
Mr Simon Mitchell
Simon Mitchell has been working in the NHS as a Clinical and Community Psychologist since 1992. He has worked in services for people with physical disabilities and with adults with severe mental health problems in both inpatient and community settings. Simon specialises in working with severe and long standing mental health difficulties, personality or attachment difficulties, and the psychological consequences of abuse and trauma. Simon provides psychological assessments, parenting assessments, mental health assessments and personal injury assessments. His psychological therapies draw on a range of training and experience, including his training as an accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapy practitioner and supervisor and of leading a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy team. Simon has a long standing interest in training and clinical supervision of Clinical Psychologists and related professions, clinical leadership and organisational change.
Dr Annie Mitchell
Annie Mitchell is a Clinical and Community Psychologist who has worked in clinical practice, research and training in the southwest for 30 years. She currently has 2 part time jobs. As Senior Lecturer and Clinical Director for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Plymouth she provides training in clinical supervision and professional issues, and is on the executive management group for Folk.us, a nationally funded research group which promotes lay involvement in health and social care research. As Clinical Health Psychologist at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital she provides psychological assessment and therapy for patients with complex physical illness, and staff support and training in the provision of psychological care. Annie initially trained as a Child Psychologist and previously worked as a Specialist Clinical Psychologist with children with disabilities. She offers training, consultancy, supervision and team-building for statutory and independent sector agencies, and has a particular interest in promoting service user and carer involvement in service development.
Mrs Jill Moorhouse
Mrs Jill Moorhouse has practised at Psychology Associates since 1996 offering therapy for trauma related disorders. Jill has experience of practising in the National Health Service in the Adult Mental Health and Learning Disability specialties. In the course of this work she developed an interest, and received extra training, in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. This interest extends to the treatment and assessment of Trauma Related Disorders.
Dr Kathryn Newns
Dr Kathryn Newns has provided expert witness services since 2008. She has previously worked in the NHS providing assessments, therapy to individuals and groups, and research in specialist Eating Disorders and Learning Disabilities settings. She has lectured students on the Doctoral courses in Clinical Psychology at the University of Plymouth (Autism) and at the University of Hertfordshire (Approaches to Consultation). She has specialist interests in Autism Spectrum Conditions, and in training and working with teams, particularly in the areas of working with clients with learning disabilities and conflict resolution/mediation. Dr Newns has a developing interest in attachment and parenting, in particular with parents who have a learning disability. Dr Newns works in the East Anglia region.
Dr Louise Nokes
Dr Louise Nokes provides psychological assessments of working age adults and children, assessments of capacity to parent and assessment of the nature and quality of attachment relationships. She also provides assessments of psychological status for a range of expert witness reports. Louise provides trauma based psychological therapy including EMDR and has a special interest in therapy underpinned by attachment theory for parents struggling with their own attachment trauma. Louise has worked for Psychology Associates for the past 4 years.
Dr Emma Pillinger
Dr Emma Pillinger is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with 10 years experience of working in both public and private sectors, in community, residential and in-patient services. In addition to providing therapeutic intervention to individuals and groups, she offers specialist assessment, formulation and intervention for mental health, behavioural, organic and forensic issues (including specialist risk assessment). Emma also provides consultation to staff teams and organisations, and supervision to other psychologists and professionals. Emma specialises in working with older people and people who have a learning disability, and has a special interest in the areas of organisational dynamics, risk assessment, bereavement, suicide, and the psychological implications of old age and learning disability.
Emma also works part time with the University of Exeter as Clinical Tutor on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Training Programme
Dr Fiona Pipon-Young
Dr Fiona Pipon-Young is a Registered Clinical Psychologist working within the NHS with adults experiencing mental health and cognitive difficulties. Fiona provides a range of psychological services including diagnostic neuropsychological assessment, assessments of capacity, differential diagnosis and psychological assessments and interventions for mental health problems (e.g. depression, anxiety, PTSD). She has worked within the NHS as a Clinical Psychologist since 2009, specializing in neuropsychology and later life mental health. Fiona holds a specialist interest in neuropsychology and holds a Masters degree with distinction in Cognitive Neuropsychology and is currently completing a postgraduate diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Glasgow.
Dr Andrew Pritchard
Dr Andrew Pritchard is a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical and Forensic). Andrew provides psycho-legal services for civil, criminal and child-care proceedings, specialising in the assessment of risk for violence, domestic violence and sexual offending. In addition, Andrew provides assessments of mental health problems, personality disorder, and intellectual and neuropsychological functioning. He has experience of providing evidence to the Courts and offers training in expert witness skills. Andrew also works in a community forensic service within the NHS where he provides forensic clinical psychology services to mentally disordered offenders across a range of care settings. This role also encompasses training health professionals in risk assessment, providing mental health review tribunal and parole board reports and participation in local Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements Panels.
Dr Katy Rees
Dr Katy Rees specialises in therapeutic work with adults and older adolescents. She previously worked in the NHS providing therapy, assessment and research in Trauma and Drug and Alcohol Services. Katy provides CBT, Mindfullness based treatment, Psychodynamic psychotherapy, systemic skills, narrative approaches, CAT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing. She has also been involved in trauma aid programme work abroad and is an approved EMDR practitioner. She has completed a Masters in Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychiatry and is a trained yoga teacher.
Dr Louise Robb
Dr Louise Robb is experienced in providing written and oral testimony as an expert witness in both Child and Family and Civil Proceedings. She has worked in a variety of Adult Mental Health settings within the NHS, in addition to providing teaching and training as a Clinical Tutor for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Exeter. Louise has clinical experience in working with severe and enduring mental health difficulties and has a particular interest in the short and long term consequences of psychological trauma. She has specialist training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and brings a research background that has focused on the impact of maternal mental health difficulties on family adaptation and functioning.
Dr Chrissie Robertson
Dr Chrissie Robertson is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. She specialises in the assessment and formulation of complex mental health difficulties and the provision of individually tailored psychotherapeutic treatment. She has worked across a range of service settings including both primary care, secondary and tertiary mental health and secure settings. She provides assessment of risk, therapeutic needs and suitability for specialist placements. Dr Robertson is also experienced in working with mentally disordered offenders, ‘hard to engage’ clients and with a variety of complex mental health presentations including self-harm, psychosis, childhood trauma and co-morbid substance misuse.
Dr Daniel Robins
Dr Daniel Robins specialises in psychological assessments of parenting capacity and personal injury cases. He also works in the NHS with people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties and plays a specialist role in the development and delivery of services for clients with personality disorder. Daniel’s enthusiasm is for psychotherapy. He is an accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) supervisor and practitioner. He is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Dr Lucie Robinson
Lucie provides developmental and psychological assessments of children (0-18), parenting assessments, therapeutic work, consultation to children’s services and families. Expert witness assessments and reports for courts are also provided. Lucie has an expertise in working with children who are developmentally delayed and has worked within a Community Child Psychology Service for children with learning disabilities and their families for the past 5 years. Lucie has recently joined Psychology Associates, having spent 6 years working clinically in NHS and Social Care Child and Family Services, and 2 years working clinically for Action for Children.
Dr Helen Rowe
Helen worked in children’s services for the NHS from 2001 to 2010, providing psychological assessment, therapy, training and consultation in child physical health and child mental health services. She now works in adult health psychology, and as an independent clinical psychologist carrying out psychological assessments of adults and children, developmental and cognitive assessments, parenting and attachment assessments, therapeutic work with children or adults, including expert witness work. Helen has special interests in parenting attachment, developmental difficulties, adults and children with long term health problems, and in infant mental health.
Dr Richard Rushe
Dr Richard Rushe is a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in adult mental health, including psychotraumatology, and clinical neuropsychology. In his work for Psychology Associates, Richard provides personal injury medico – legal assessments, cognitive assessments, mental capacity assessments, and neuropsychological assessments. His clinical experience has included appointments in community mental health and acquired brain injury. Richard has extensive experience of psychological and neuropsychological assessment and intervention in respect of adults referred with a wide spectrum of mental health needs and cognitive impairment.
Dr Tim Salzman
Dr Tim Salzman provides psychological assessment and therapeutic work in the areas of adult mental health and learning disability. He undertakes assessment of psychological state, cognitive functioning, attachment style and parenting capacity. Tim undertakes regular expert witness assessments and prepares Court reports. Tim has an expertise in working with psychological trauma and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). He has a specialist interest in Asperger’s Syndrome. Tim has worked independently for Psychology Associates for the last 2 years. Previously he has worked in adult mental health and learning disability services within the NHS.
Dr Claire Smith
Dr Claire Smith is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who has worked within forensic mental health services for 10 years providing specialist assessments and interventions for mentally disordered offenders within a secure NHS hospital. She also has prior experience of working within specialist services for brain injury and Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Since 2000, she has provided expert witness testimony for civil, family and criminal court proceedings, mental health review tribunals and parole board hearings, specialising in assessing risk of sexual or violent behaviour, including domestic violence, in addition to psychological assessment of mental state; personality disorder; complex trauma; substance misuse, and intellectual and neuropsychological functioning.
Dr Alexandra Toombes
Dr. Alexandra Toombes is a Registered and BPS Chartered Clinical Psychologist. Alex provides short and longer term therapy for a range of psychological difficulties. Alex has a specialist interest in working with trauma, both complex and severe trauma reactions, and those resulting from a one-off traumatic experience. Alex also works with anxiety disorders, personality difficulties and depression. Alex’s approach is integrative; utilising a range of psychological theories and models to provide evidence-based practice, but that is fundamentally tailored to the individual needs of, and understandable to, the client. Alex was previously employed in the NHS and with a national human rights organisation, where she worked with people from different cultures through interpreters.
Dr Maxine Tostevin
Dr Maxine Tostevin is our Clinical Director for Child and Parenting Services. Maxine provides developmental and psychological assessments of children (0-18), parenting assessments, attachment assessment, therapeutic work, and consultation to children’s services and families. Expert witness assessments and reports for courts are regularly completed. Maxine has an expertise in working with children who have experienced abuse and trauma. She has worked within statutory Children in Care services for over 6 six years and has specialised in working with children and families over the last 12 years, since qualifying.
Dr Joanne Weston
Dr Joanne Weston
Dr Joanne Weston provides psychological assessment and therapy to adults. She has particular experience of working in adult mental health settings with people with emotional and mental health problems of varying severity. This includes anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress reactions, work-related difficulties, and adjustment to and managing health conditions. Her career includes working in primary care settings (e.g. GP surgeries) for three years, providing brief therapy for people with common emotional difficulties. Joanne uses a range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Systemic and Brief Solution-Focused approaches. These are tailored to the client’s needs and drawn from the current research evidence base.
Dr Vicky Wheeler
Dr Vicky Wheeler is a Clinical Psychologist providing expert witness services to the courts in criminal, civil and family cases. Dr Wheeler is skilled at working with emotionally distressed children and families and can complete attachment and parenting assessments. She has a special interest in paediatric psychology and has considerable experience in this area. Dr Wheeler also specialises in forensic cases, providing assessments of risk for violence and sexual offending, personality disorder, psychopathy, mental health difficulties and substance misuse. Dr Wheeler has worked extensively within the court system, providing written and verbal reports and participated regularly in multi-agency public protection arrangement panels.
Mrs Arabella Whitehead
Mrs Arabella Whitehead provides developmental and psychological assessments of children (0-18), full psychological assessment of adults, predominantly parents, including learning disability, autism, assessments of parenting and attachment, mental health and associated difficulties such as drug and alcohol problems, therapeutic work and consultation to children and adult/family services; additionally, she will undertake personal injury assessments. Expert witness assessments and reports for Court are also provided. Arabella's clinical experience spans 23 years of working in the NHS and she has been working with Psychology Associates since 2007.
Dr Heather Whitelaw
Dr Heather Whitelaw has been working with Psychology Associates since 2002. Previous posts have included working in the NHS in the Learning Disability Service and working for Outlook South West providing primary care mental health services to GP practices. Heather works therapeutically, providing psychological treatment for complex adult mental health difficulties (e.g. depression, anxiety, OCD, acute and chronic trauma and grief work). She works using an integrative approach which includes CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and mindfulness based therapies such as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). Her interests include Transpersonal Psychology and supporting individuals to understand and work with their critical voice to enhance self compassion. Heather works from Saltash and Dartington.
Mrs Sarah Wimpress
Sarah Wimpress is a chartered Counselling Psychologist who works in private practice and the NHS. Sarah offers clinical psychological assessment, reports, therapy and supervision to a range of services including providing clinical input to rehabilitation providers, Employee Assistance Programmes and Primary Care. Sarah works with adults suffering from a wide range of difficulties, including depression, PTSD, adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders and pain management. Within the broad scope of adult mental health Sarah specialises in providing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to individuals who have difficulties arising from traumatic events/accidents and provides assessments, reports, and treatment interventions to meet an individual’s needs. She adopts a humanistic integrated approach to her work, utilising theory and techniques as indicated by the clients presentation. All interventions are based on the latest available research evidence in order to promote best outcomes.
