A clinical and theory driven approach to assessing and managing psychological issues in corporations

Occupational Psychological Health

We offer a broad range of high quality clinical services to businesses and organisations, promoting psychological well-being within the work environment

Psychology Associates is a practice of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists Psychology Associates is a practice of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, however the broad training and experience of our Associates means that there is significant cross-over with services offered by Occupational Psychologists. In addition to issues relating to the ‘occupational psychology’ domains of aptitude, stress management, and individual / group efficacy, we offer more clinically focussed assessment and intervention.

As clinicians, trained in a variety of theoretical models, we are well placed to offer targeted and multi-perspective analyses of difficulties, and work on the resolution of psychological distress. This may be at the level of an individual experiencing difficulties in coping, or with acute/chronic stress/distress, or at a ‘systems’ level of wider group functioning.

The services we offer are of course tailored to the presenting need, but may include:

  • conflict assessment, management and resolution
  • assessment of distress / mental-health difficulties arising from work-related issues (i.e. psychological ‘occupational health’)
  • advice on coping strategies, return to work, psychological prognosis, treatment options
  • employee counselling / employee assistance programmes
  • working with change
  • training in stress-management and maintaining psychological well-being
  • mediation
  • facilitating effective group working
  • work life balance
  • coordinating and delivering occupational psychological health within organisations
  • change management
  • debriefing
  • address staff turnover and potential for ‘burnout’
  • motivation
  • organisational mindfulness

We recognise the value of activities such as team building and problem-solving that are commonly within the remit of occupational / corporate psychological services. However, we believe that the value of our work lies in our clinical and theory driven approach to assessing and managing psychological issues. We therefore can assess, formulate, and make recommendations for interventions. This may indeed include techniques of teambuilding as part of facilitation of a wider change process. However, we would be very happy to discuss the individual needs of organisations. Psychology Associates is a growing and dynamic service provider that is keen to consider new ways of working in order to design and deliver innovative psychological practice.
