About Psychology Associates
Psychology Associates is administratively based in Cornwall but provides services across the UK. The practice was founded in 2000 by Dr Sue Candy in response to the growing demand for expert witnesses and medico-legal reports in the field of Clinical and Forensic Psychology. She has over 20 years experience of training and working in psychology and has worked in the NHS as a clinician in a variety of services. Sue is the Managing Director of Psychology Associates and specialises in assessments of parenting capacity and attachment.
There are 5 Clinical Directors, all Consultant Psychologists:
- Dr Maxine Tostevin, Clinical Director for Child and Parenting Services
- Dr Kelly Camilleri, Clinical Director for Learning Difficulties, Education and Training
- Dr Stephen Roundhill, Clinical Director for Neuropsychology Services
- Dr Susan Jones, Clinical Director for Forensic Services
- The Clinical Director post for Adult Mental Health, Therapy and Personal Injury is in the process of appointment.
Since 2000 the practice has expanded rapidly and now has more than 90 linked Associates who offer a broad range of assessment and therapy. The range of services and Associates is regularly updated and we welcome enquiries from anyone wishing to discuss their need for a psychologist, whatever the issue.
The practice continues to offer medico-legal report writing and general expert witness work but our portfolio of services is constantly expanding and includes:
- assessment and therapy of adults and children of all ages and across specialisms
- training to health, social care, and legal professionals, services and other psychologists
- supervision and consultancy to statutory, independent and business providers.
The practice has a strong reputation for high quality, ethical and evidence based psychology, applied within the wide range of settings in which we provide services. We will consider any enquiry regardless of specialism or geographical location and if unable to provide assistance will do our upmost to try and signpost enquirers to alternative sources of provision.
The Practice Manager is Sarah Elliott. Sarah is responsible for the smooth running of the office and is supported by the administration team. If you have any queries for Sarah please contact her on 0845 026 7260.
The Clinical Administration Team manages all clinical enquiries and co-ordinates clinical services within the practice. They carefully allocate the most appropriate Associate to each case enquiry. The Clinical Administration Team is supported by the Clinical Directors - employed Associates who would be happy to discuss your clinical needs.
Principles of Practise for Psychology Associates
With the expansion of Psychology Associates over recent years it has become increasingly important to us to maintain our identity as a group of psychologists committed to the development of the profession within the independent sector. We consider that our own growth, the range of services we offer, and the profession of psychology itself are best served by thoughtful and reflective practise. To remain mindful of the issues we consider central to our ideals and intentions we have developed our ‘Principles of Practise’, shown in the diagram below:
